Kunjunni Mash our Kuttettan/ Enniloode Autobiography
We all
are familiar with the name Kunjunni Mash. Remember that Kunjunni Mash, the
famous Malayalam poet, was born in the year 10 May 1927. Actually this famous
poet was born in Trissur district situated in Kerala state, India. His parents
were Njayapilly Illathu Neelakantan Moosath & Athiyarathu Narayani Amma.
Enniloode is considered as the autobiography of Kunjunni Mash. It should be
noted that this poet was popular among the Kerala people. Also note that most
of his poems conveyed a message to the world. But this great poet passed away
in the year 26 March 2006.
He was
known for writing small poems which appeared to be childlike in form, but
conveyed a message. Kunjunni handled the column for children in the Mathrubhumi weekly under the pseudonym
"Kuttettan". He initiated three or four generations of aspiring writers into
writing. Kunjunni returned to his native village in 1987 and became involved in
social and cultural activities in the Thrissur area. He appeared in Bhoomigeetham,
a film directed by Kamal.
